Although Rochester Lettings does not endorse or represent any other business and / or events, nor can we be held responsible for the content of other websites, we thought you might like a flavour of what this unique and wonderful city has to offer

The City of Rochester has grown from a little Saxon Village to a Historic City representing one of England's finest. The Norman Castle is nearly 1,000 years old. The City of Rochester also has the second oldest Cathedral in the country. There are strong links to one of its most famous local residents, Charles Dickens.

Many festivals are held in Rochester, from May, with the 'Sweeps Festival' finishing with the 'Dickensian Christmas' and the lamp light procession through the streets of Rochester. Fabulous concerts are held in the grounds of the castle each year including Jools Holland and Blondie, as well as events such as the Rochester Food & Drink Festival.

Walk back in time along Rochester's Victorian High Street and visit many of the shops and restaurants that still have the Dickensian characteristics.

If history is your thing visit www.city-of-rochester.co.uk/history and read about Rochester's amazing timeline. In fact this is one of the best and most comprehensive websites covering Rochester including everything from what to do and when, to information on disabled access.
